After cleaning the containers with soap and hot water it was time to start sanitizing and verifying the volume of my two fermenting vessels. To get the most mileage out of my water bill and stock of sodium bisulfite I decided to knock this all out in one sweep.
1. the fermentation bucket was cleaned with 1gal of sanitizing solution
2. that gallon was then racked into the carboy (sanitizing the siphon hose on the way) which was then shaken with vigor
3. the carboy was filled to capacity with water and racked into the fermentation bucket to mark how high to fill for primary fermentation
